About ROCCUS Charters

ROCCUS Charters derives its name from the early scientific name given to the striped bass - Roccus Saxatilis.

Roccus is Latin and refers to rock, the environment in which this fish can be found

Boston Harbor, an area of some fifty square miles is bound by 180 miles of rocky shoreline and is dotted with some thirty islands. The striped bass feels right at home here. This environment also provides the angler with numerous locations to catch this great fish.

The current scientific name for the striped bass is Monroe Saxatilis. Other names that the striped bass goes by are: Rock Fish, Linesider, Old Pajamas, Roccus, Roc, Striper and Green Head.
